Carswell Gould’s creative marketing team are proud to be the catalyst for the great success of the sixth Venturefest South Festival of Innovation, held on November 17th.
Shining a spotlight on the South’s innovation eco-system, around 1,000 visitors attended #VFS22, where investment, funding and development opportunities were available to local start-ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurs.
VFS is a partnership-led, year-round programme where partners, exhibitors and sponsors directly fund the promotion of and the exhibition space for all kinds of innovators and entrepreneurs from across the South.
This year, 47 innovator companies received funded places; over 50 innovators entered the £10k Battle of the Pitches competition and 12 entered the Open Mic events. The programme also engages with networks and initiatives, including Innovate UK KTN, Women in Innovation, Young Innovators, The Indian Business Group, Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Business South, Creative Network South, and more.
We delivered and managed an exciting and smoothly-run programme, with every team member contributing to the event’s success – from pre-publicity and organising the Battle of the Pitches competition, to engaging with sponsors, partner, speakers and exhibitors and promoting ticket sales. Our designers produced brilliant visual elements, including signage and digital screens, including our own CeeGee branding, and the organising team meticulously planned the timetable to make the day a real hit.
On the day, all the CG team were on hand at The Ageas Bowl, wearing branded tee shirts to encourage visitors to scan our QR code to win marketing prizes. We provided social media coverage of the day’s actions and highlights, gave IT support and ensured all partners and exhibitors needs were met.
We covered all aspects of #VFS22 – from the Open Mic and Innovation Talks to managing innovator applications and hosted the grand final awards ceremony, which saw Battle of the Pitches winner powerQuad receive £10k and the Venturefest Awards handed out to the region’s brightest and best innovators and SMEs.
We are thrilled that this year’s event was so successful as our commitment to the region’s flourishing eco-system has never been more vital in the current economic climate.
I was inspired by the delegates, partners and innovators at this year’s event, who are bold and ambitious, and the collaboration between large-scale businesses, education and start-ups demonstrated a willingness to pull together to make great things happen.
