CG's creative director, Ed Gould, spoke last week (June 18) in a more unusual setting at Seawork International, in a floating conference centre on the Ocean Scene vessel.
Ed spoke to a gathered audience about the simple ways the marine industry can harness the power of inbound or content marketing. Those in the audience included representatives from Guy Cotten, whose video 'Sortie En Mer' Ed played as part of his presentation.
I was really pleased to see representatives from all corners of the marine industry at the talk, from recruitment to batteries. As inbound marketing relies on engaging content I do think it works efficiently as part of a marketing strategy for any marine business.
It was beautiful day we spent at Seawork and it is always fascinating to walk around, visiting numerous stands along the way. It was great to speak to our clients PSP and Southampton City College who were exhibiting and also to bump into old friends.
Ed explained how the marine industry can find customers in their native environment and convert them into customers using engaging content, social media and other inbound marketing tools. You can see Ed's talk 'How to harness the power of inbound marketing to boost sales' below.
Seawork International is the largest and fastest growing international commercial marine and workboat exhibition and conference held in a European working port environment. It attracted more than 7,000 visitors this year to the Port of Southampton, where buyers, sellers, innovators and legislators came together to showcase their companies.
Darren Patten, marine composite lecturer at Southampton City College, also led a talk on the benefits of taking on apprentices to both employers and young people.
CG has worked within the marine industry for 20 years and has sound experience with leading companies, such as PSP, ABP Southampton and RIBEX. Read our content marketing tips here or get in touch to find out more.
