Carswell Gould has been based in Southampton for 25 years. We have always been passionate about the city, and vocal supporters of all it has to offer. Over the years, we are proud to have had our fingers in a lot of city-changing ‘local pies’.

Going back in time we were very involved in the launch of Business Southampton and the creation of South Coast Design Forum. Our work with Solent LEP, to help develop regional growth and position our region as a great place for investment, has been a central part of our commercial work. Working with key players in the region, such as Go! Southampton and Southampton Cultural Development Trust, means we are well placed to support the promotion of the city.

To complement this, we have created what we are calling the City Communications Initiative. As part of this new initiative, we have committed a significant amount of time and money to spend on work which focuses on building Southampton’s reputation.

We will help Southampton on its journey towards becoming known as one of the UK’s brightest up-and-coming cities by:

  • Running specific communications activity that promotes Southampton and events in the city.
  • Supporting the marketing efforts of other organisations in the region with comms and strategy support.
  • Working on projects that support the values of creating a better city.

A recent project that supports the values of creating a better city is our work with local advocacy groups to launch a new city-wide anti-hate campaign, Love Don’t Hate. We matched the budget for this project, and with this additional funding developed an app on both Apple and Google Play for Android to make the reporting process easier, in addition to press relations and designing assets to help promote the campaign.

We hope this, along with the work of other like-minded organisations that are championing the city, will inspire others to do the same, and commit their time and money to shout about our city and region.
