To achieve these goals, we developed a series of successful character-led campaigns that aligned with important dates including; Creative Croc’s Easter Challenge, Safari Summer Week, Harvest Festival, School Readiness, and Festival of Culture.
One of our favourites was Safari Summer Week, which involved a programme of activities for the children at Kingsmead Day Nursery. We created a “Campaign in a Box” to promote the events to the wider community and parents. The children, with the help of ‘Kind Kangaroo’, raised over £600 for Marwell Zoo, which was struggling to recover from the impact of Covid-19. The nursery even received a surprise visit from Lenny the Lemur from Marwell Zoo and a place on the zoo’s ‘fundraising wall of fame’. The campaign involved design, social media, PR, event organisation, and community engagement.
Other campaigns included collecting up food and essential items for a local homeless shelter (Harvest Festival), producing an art gallery filled with culture for the local community (Festival of Culture), and an interactive Easter challenge which children of all ages and from all areas could take part in (Creative Croc’s Easter Challenge).
As a result of our efforts, Kingsmead Day Nursery received sustained increased enquiries during and after the campaign, it now has a full waiting list. The nursery received local news coverage and importantly the parents are thrilled with the results.
