Start-up to £14 million in three months

How we helped an innovative idea turn into a successful start-up with a £14 million sales pipeline.

In the beginning...

Carswell Gould was approached by a start-up business that had created a jet engine-inspired shower system. The business had gained funding and had a remit to launch quickly and develop sales. The challenge was to get the company ready for launch, on a global scale, before any product had been created. 

The big question was...

'How can we present this product in a way that generates sales, fast?'

How we tackled it...

From the outset, Carswell Gould worked at board level to explore the aims, identify the right market and then develop a proposition. This included us changing the name of the business to Kelda Technology in order to add a tech element and give a scalable brand for the future. Our full branding project included creating a useable marketing strategy and positioning bible, making logos and defining core colours. We also developed the brand story and launch promotional film.

We came up with a marketing plan for the launch that included ongoing PR and media relations, content marketing and email communications.

To launch focused on the leisure and gym sector and started planning for one of the world’s biggest international trade shows in Germany, which was only three months away.

To prepare for the trade show itself, Carswell Gould designed an attention-grabbing interactive stand. The focal point of the stand was a giant touchscreen calculator, which enabled managers and owners of gym and leisure facilities to work out how much money and water they could save by changing their showers to Kelda Technology. 


The launch was supported with a brand new website to introduce Kelda Technology to the industry, as well as press activity and collateral handed out from the stand. We devised a content plan, which we executed to support the event and after-sales. Ed Gould was in Germany to help market the product and manage the press at the event. Following this success, we managed another event in London soon after which generated further interest.The product, stand and calculator was a favourite of Dame Kelly Holmes who popped onto the stand to check out what we were doing after we told her about Kelda Technology on Social media.


The results...

During the global launch in Germany, Kelda Technology racked up a total of £14m in sales opportunities. We also nurtured a relationship with the owner of Brazil’s largest gym chain. The press activity introduced Kelda Technology to the media in the industry, regionally and nationally. Carswell Gould has since secured an innovation feature in the national press.

We’re also entering Kelda Technology into awards, with the company currently shortlisted for Innovation of the Year at the Green Innovation & Finance Awards 2017, as well as being shortlisted as one of the top 30 cleantech companies in the world at the Global Expo 2017.
