Reimagining exhibition design for a lower environmental impact

For Wildflower Co.’s brand launch at FutureBuild 2026, we created a bold, modular exhibition stand that brought its commitment to biodiversity and sustainability to life.

Designed for reuse across future events, the stand combined natural materials, interactive storytelling and adaptable design. Its approach was recognised at FutureBuild, where it won the Most Sustainable Stand Award.

The Challenge

When Wildflower Co. approached us ahead of FutureBuild 2026, they had a challenge that sat right at the heart of their brand mission.

Wildflower Co. exists to support biodiversity, restore habitats and help bring nature back into spaces where it has been lost. Their exhibition presence needed to reflect that purpose authentically. Creating a traditional exhibition stand packed with waste and destined for landfill was not an option.

The brief was to design a bold launch platform for the company’s new brand identity at FutureBuild 2026 while ensuring the stand could evolve and adapt for future exhibitions of varying sizes and formats.

We developed a creative solution that connected sustainability, storytelling and flexibility into one highly distinctive exhibition experience.

Our Approach

The exhibition space measured 9m x 6.36m x 6.36m and needed to create strong visual impact within a busy exhibition environment. At the centre of the project was a commitment to lower the environmental impact of the exhibition design.

Working with a specialist build partner focused on material repurposing, we designed the stand as a fully modular system that could be reconfigured for future events, regardless of layout or footprint requirements.

Every element was designed with reuse in mind. The stand components can be rearranged to create entirely new configurations for smaller shell schemes, larger open spaces or alternative event formats in the future.

This transformed the stand from a one-off build into a long-term brand asset.

Sustainability was not treated as a surface-level message. It informed every stage of the creative and production process.

The stand incorporated repurposed materials alongside recyclable graphic panels and biodegradable natural elements. Live turf installations brought Wildflower Co.’s products and mission to life while reinforcing the organisation’s connection to biodiversity and habitat restoration.

The printed graphics were designed without time-sensitive messaging, extending their usable lifespan and reducing unnecessary waste from future updates. Sustainability messaging was also integrated directly into the stand experience through educational content panels and dedicated information cards explaining the environmental thinking behind the build.

One of the project’s biggest technical challenges was designing a modular structure capable of adapting to unknown future exhibition footprints without compromising visual quality or storytelling clarity. The final system gives Wildflower Co. the flexibility to scale and reshape the stand for future use while significantly reducing the environmental impact associated with repeated exhibition builds.

Bringing the Wildflower Co. story to life

Alongside the sustainability strategy, the stand needed to communicate the Wildflower Co. story clearly and memorably.

We designed the exhibition graphics around three core storytelling areas:

  • science and research
  • product range
  • nature and biodiversity impact

Interactive experiences were introduced throughout the stand to deepen audience engagement and create memorable moments.

A microscope station invited visitors to examine seed dishes and identify weed seed impurities, helping demonstrate the scientific expertise and rigorous quality processes behind Wildflower Co.’s products.

A live seed dispensing station allowed visitors to take away samples, extending the brand experience beyond the event itself.

To support future marketing activity, newsletter sign-up points were integrated across the stand, encouraging visitors to join the Wildflower Co. community in exchange for a promotional offer.

The Outcome

The result was a stand experience designed not only to attract attention, but to create meaningful connections between the Wildflower Co. mission and its audience.

The stand was awarded the Most Sustainable Stand Award at the event.

This project reflects our approach to creative problem solving: connecting brand goals with thoughtful design, sustainability-led thinking and experiences built to deliver long-term value instead of short-term waste.

The modular Wildflower Co. stand demonstrates how exhibition design can create standout audience experiences while reducing environmental impact and supporting a more sustainable future for events and marketing.
